Explore the Skeleton Coast’s shipwrecks and coastal dunes from land and air, and photograph the unique Himba culture and desert-adapted wildlife in Damaraland.



Itinerary:


Day 1: Arrival in Windhoek

  • Arrive in Windhoek and meet your professional photographer.

  • Introductory session covering the itinerary, gear preparation, and photography goals.

  • Overnight briefing and Q&A.

 

Overnight: Windhoek luxury suites


Day 2: Windhoek to Sossusvlei

  • Drive to the iconic Namib Desert.

  • Evening golden hour shoot of the dunes.

  • Night photography introduction and setup.


Overnight: Lodge near Sossusvlei


Day 3: Sossusvlei & Deadvlei

  • Early morning sunrise shoot on the dunes, including Big Daddy.

  • Visit Deadvlei for striking dead tree compositions against white clay pans.

  • Afternoon rest and midday Lightroom editing session.

  • Evening shoot of sunset and desert light.


Overnight: Sossusvlei Lodge


Day 4: Sossusvlei to NamibRand Nature Reserve

  • Drive to the remote NamibRand Nature Reserve.

  • Afternoon and evening astro photography workshop, capturing the Milky Way over desert landscapes.


Overnight: Desert camp or lodge


Day 5: NamibRand – Astro & Landscape Photography

  • Morning landscape shoots with soft light.

  • Midday editing and feedback session.

  • Evening star trail and Milky Way photography.


Overnight: Desert camp


Day 6: NamibRand to Swakopmund via Skeleton Coast

  • Drive to Swakopmund, stopping for shots of coastal dunes and shipwrecks along the Skeleton Coast.

  • Afternoon aerial photography option (scenic flight over Skeleton Coast & Sandwich Harbour).

  • Evening coastal golden hour shoot.


Overnight: Swakopmund Hotel


Day 7: Swakopmund – Sandwich Harbour 4x4 Photography

  • Full day in Sandwich Harbour on a 4x4, capturing the unique meeting of dunes and ocean.

  • Midday Lightroom session back at lodge.

  • Sunset shoot over the dunes or ocean.


Overnight: Swakopmund Hotel


Day 8: Swakopmund to Damaraland

  • Drive to Damaraland, known for desert wildlife and Himba culture.

  • Afternoon portrait session with Himba people (respectful and culturally sensitive).

  • Sunset wildlife shoot focusing on desert-adapted species.


Overnight: Damaraland Lodge or Camp


Day 9: Damaraland to Etosha National Park

  • Morning departure to Etosha National Park.

  • Afternoon and evening golden hour safari shoots, targeting Big Five and birdlife.

  • Review and feedback session.


Overnight: Etosha Safari Lodge


Day 10: Etosha – Wildlife Photography & Departure

  • Early morning game drive focusing on wildlife and bird photography during prime light.

  • Midday final editing and wrap-up session.

  • Transfer to Windhoek or onward travel arrangements.
